It's Snow Problem For Radius!

It's Snow Problem For Radius!
We would like to thank the hard work and dedication of our staff and the patience of our customers throughout the severe snow which brought much of the UK to a halt in December. Staff across the business worked around the clock to keep our UK sites safe and our products and services running as normal as possible in the treacherous conditions. At its most severe, the Radius headquarters in Derbyshire saw over 10 inches of snow, which resulted in 16 tonnes of grit being used at this site alone!

Some staff went above and beyond the call of duty by, working up to 16 hour shifts, and shovelling snow in the early hours to ensure Radius was able to stay open for business. A particularly hard working individual who deserves a mention is Brent Egan, who on some days started work at 4.30am to collect the necessary grit from the stock pile. Site Engineering Co-ordinator, Kevin Lewis commented: 'Having already bought in 12 tonnes of grit this summer, we were well prepared for the frosty conditions. However, we could not have kept the site running, had it not been for the hard work of our staff clearing the snow in the stockyard and car park. Brent Egan worked the longest and hardest of anybody during the snow, so he deserves a special mention. '

We would also like to say a special thank you to AMEC who in true neighbourly spirit lent a much appreciated JCB digger to help safely clear the Radius stockyard of snow.
