Radius Systems' Trio Seek Charity Sponsorship for Nottingham-Derby 'Kilomathon'
Three employees from Blackwell-based pipes manufacturer Radius Systems are seeking fund-raising support for their planned 26.2-kilometre (16-mile) 'kilomathon' in aid of the Hope for Children Charity.

The event takes place on Sunday 14 March. It is claimed to be the world's first kilomathon, with entrants coming from all over the world, and the Radius employees are Gary Wain, Andy Ball and Matt Cooper. So far they have raised £282 in pledges for the charity.

Currently, Hope for Children is focusing on helping thousands of child refugees from the recent Haitian earthquake. Andy Ball is additionally in training for the London Marathon in April, at which he hopes to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy (CP) Sport and for the local Kirkstead School in Pinxton.

To make a donation, sponsors should go to the not-for-profit website http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/ and search for 'Gary Wain' on the home page. To maximise a donation's effect, please complete the Gift Aid part of the donation.

Alternatively, people can send cheques made payable to Hope for Children to Gary Wain at Radius Systems, Radius House, Berristow Lane, Blackwell, Nr Alfreton DE55 5JD.  In order for the Charity to claim the additional 28 per cent Gift Aid, people need to supply their home addresses too.

Hope for Children's website is at www.hope4c.org
