Ultra Fortis Open Day Proves Pipe's Ease of Use
Visitors to the WT Burden open day at Thurrock in Autumn were able to see an Ultra Fortis pipelaying demonstration -- carried out by two ladies from the Burden depot! Elaina Tomalin and Julie Cable were able to show how easily 18 metres of 150mm Fortis could be laid and in practice sessions actually achieved a time of under three minutes for the full 18 metres!
Radius Systems' Richard Hennessy had sent out a cash prize challenge to beat the girls by laying an equivalent length of 150mm clay pipe. Despite a couple of brave souls taking up the challenge the girls were victorious and undefeated all day. The open day provided an excellent opportunity for contractors to actually see the Fortis in action. The system is fully approved for adoption by Thames Water, Southern Water and Anglian Water with a growing number of contractors switching from clay to Fortis on new installations.
